The Weekend

WHERE

Camp Cody, Cody Road, Freedom, New Hampshire

WHEN

Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-26, 2014
Wedding ceremony and reception, Sunday, May 25, 2014

WHY

Because we're getting married, of course! And shortly after we get married, we will be moving to Bangalore, India. We hope to spend one of our last weekends in the US with all of our family and friends!

We hope you'll join us for a plethora of activities throughout the weekend. Below is an outline of what the weekend will look like. We invite everyone to join us from Saturday to Monday.

Schedule of Events v4

Food and Drink

We will be catering all meals throughout the weekend, to be held at the camp. When you RSVP, please make sure to let us know which meals you will be attending.

We will also be catering all drinks during the wedding reception. If you would like to bring drinks for other times throughout the weekend, please feel free to bring your own wine and beer. Camp Cody does not allow liquor or hard alcohol on site.

What to Bring

Below are some suggestions for items to bring with you:

  • Bathing suit and towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Sporting equipment (such as soccer balls, footballs, frisbees, etc.)
  • Musical instruments for the talent show or campfire songs
  • Flag from the country you're coming from (to be hung on the flagpole)

What to Wear

Most of the weekend: Whatever you want
Ceremony and Reception: Jacket and tie / women's equivalent

How to Get Here

Closest airports to Camp Cody are:

  • Boston Logan International Airport (Boston, Massachusetts), 118 miles
  • Manchester Airport (Manchester, New Hampshire), 92 miles
  • Portsmouth Airport (Portsmouth, New Hampshire), 64 miles
  • Portland Airport (Portland, Maine), 50 miles

You can fly into one of these airports and rent a car.

Alternatively, there is a bus that runs once or twice a day from Boston Logan to West Ossipee (a 5 minute drive from Camp Cody; we can pick you up at the bus stop). The Logan-West Ossipee bus schedule is here. This is the winter schedule; there should be a summer schedule that starts around June and we're not sure if it'll apply to Memorial Day weekend yet. Holidays (ie- Monday May 26) are treated as weekend days. Note that the Friday/Sunday only buses will probably stay that way for the three-day weekend (as in, the Sunday only buses will stay on Sunday, and not move to Monday). If you plan on taking the bus, please let us know, as we can arrange for a group booking if there's enough interest.

Accommodations

There are two options for accommodations at our wedding: You can stay on-site in a bunk, or you can stay in a nearby hotel/B&B. We encourage all those who feel comfortable to stay at the camp with us, so we can spend more time with you throughout the weekend!

STAYING AT THE CAMP

We would love for you to stay with us at Camp Cody throughout the weekend! This can be booked through us via the online RSVP.

Accommodation at Camp Cody consists of several cabins with bunk beds. There will be no need to use the top bunk beds (unless you prefer the top). Most cabins consist of three, somewhat separated rooms, and each room contains several bunks. All cabins have heat, electricity, and their own bathrooms. There are additional showers and bathrooms on the camp grounds, if necessary. We will be providing linens for those who stay at the camp.

We will do our best to assign cabins based on age group, friend group, etc, and we will strive to keep room occupancy as low as possible (unless you prefer otherwise). We hope you think the benefits of staying with us at the camp make up for having a shared living space for a couple nights - because we sure do!

Costs of staying at Camp Cody including all taxes and meals are:

CampRoomPackages

All on-site accommodation will be booked through us when you RSVP. We will do our best to allocate rooming assignments. If you have any questions regarding on-site accommodation, please email us (and not Camp Cody).

STAYING AT A HOTEL

Below are some close hotel options. There are also plenty of hotel options in North Conway, but they are a 40 minute drive away from Camp Cody. Even if you stay at a nearby hotel, we encourage you to join us for meals at the camp throughout the weekend. You can RSVP for meals below.

For some of these hotels, we have blocked out rooms for our guests. Just call the hotel and say you're attending the Stenson-Zingman wedding to reserve a blocked room (since they won't be available through the online booking system).

Econolodge

4 miles from camp
33 rooms (15 reserved in the Stenson-Zingman wedding block)
$139/night if you stay 2 nights; $129 for Sunday night only
Cutoff date for reserving a room in the block: March 22, 2014
www.econolodgenh.com

Renovated in 2012, this hotel is on par with any Marriott or "business trip hotel" that we've stayed at in a large city. All rooms are new, clean, and spacious. Free WiFi. Econolodge rates are for 2 people per room, and they charge $25/guest for an extra person. If you book a room in our block and cancel after the cutoff date (March 22), you will be charged a 40% cancellation fee. If you book online (not in our block), the cancellation policy is better and rates are similar. Continental breakfast included.

Inn at Crystal Lake

11 miles from camp
11 rooms (all blocked for Stenson-Zingman wedding)
Prices range from $109-$209/night.
Cutoff date for reserving a room in the block: March 22, 2014
www.innatcrystallake.com

A quaint, pretty inn across from a nice lake. Similar vibe to Riverbend Inn but not quite as luxurious. There's no cell phone service, but there's free WiFi. All rooms have private bathrooms. There's one pet-friendly room. Includes breakfast. There's also a really cool pub.

Mount Whittier Motel

7 miles from camp
19 rooms
Prices range from $99-$149 for Fri/Sat; slightly cheaper on Sun.
Cutoff date for reserving a room in the block: March 22, 2014
www.mountwhittiermotel.biz

Older roadside motel. Very simple and clean - a good budget option (think Motel 6 but very clean and well maintained). Rooms range from 1 Queen to 2 Full beds + 1 Twin bed, and any permutation in between. Free WiFi. 7 day cancellation policy. Very close to NH Route 16, a rather busy road, so it might be a bit noisy at night. No breakfast served. Coffee and tea available.

Other nearby Inns and B&Bs

Below are two other nearby inns / B&Bs that are good lodging options. We don't have a room block at either, but don't let that stop you.

North Conway

There are more options for hotels in North Conway. Please see here for some suggestions.

Registry

Shortly after we get married, we'll be moving to Bangalore, India. Since we won't be bringing many of our material possessions with us, we only have a limited traditional gift registry (of items we'll store until we return the US sometime in the future). Instead, we have created a way to contribute towards some of the items we'll need to set up our new life in Bangalore.
